I woke up extra early this morning so I would have time to shovel out the house before I headed in to work. Holy crap. We get it, winter. You win. Will you give us a break now?

At the end of December, we had a huge storm. It was a work holiday, so I spent the day off shoveling and then trying to warm up.

Here is the shoveling crew. I look thrilled to be there. I also look like a hunchback. What hump?

I declared a snow day for myself last week when I went out to shovel before work and couldn’t bear to think about driving in that storm. It was snowing incredibly hard. This week was fun, with a storm on Tuesday that included not only snow but also sleet and freezing rain, which was followed by ice chopping and more shoveling. Then there was this morning’s round of snow. The snow piles in front of our house are taller than I am, which makes shoveling even more fun than usual (hint: it’s never fun). You can barely see around the snow banks on the street corners. And now it’s super windy, and it’s barely going to hit ten degrees for the next few days. But the temperature will be up to the 20s on Tuesday…just in time for more snow!

Did I mention that I was supposed to be Tampa this weekend (our trip got postponed)? Eff this. Winter, you can suck it.
