Actually, I’m sure no one has been missing this blogger. I keep meaning to sit down and write, but I haven’t. But here I am now!
Last weekend, I went up to Toronto to visit my sister, #1 brother-in-law, and my nieces and nephew. Although my brother-in-law says he doesn’t care if I put the kids photos up on the blog, my sister has asked me in the past not to. But I think I finally found some that are a good compromise:

The Pie |
Mowgli |
The Duck |
Aren’t they adorable?! Actually, they are super cute. And you can’t see Mowgli’s hair, but it’s so short now! But since it took me so long to settle on that name, I’m just going to stick with it, big hair or not. You also can’t see his shoes, but I just realized that I bought all of them these shoes. The Pie and the boy got new running shoes from Auntie Sara this summer, and I brought the girls new boots on this trip. Useful gifts are good, too! Anyway, as you can see, after I arrived on Saturday, we went to the park. On Sunday, after I took The Duck on a long walk on which I bored her to sleep, we went on a family nature walk. The Pie wrote a list of things for us to find (such as a flat rock, animals, and different colored leaves), and we found most of them, including this misplaced comma:
Yes, there are signs in nature. And seriously, Sara, leave the work at home.
The older kids had a day off from school on Monday, so while The Duck went to daycare, we spent the day together. First, we played Hullabaloo. Then we dressed up.
The Pie provided me with princess gear. And this is not the only photo that proves that I need longer arms in order to take such photos.
We then took a long walk to get some lunch, then came back to have an Oreo licking race! The Pie beat out Mowgli, who didn’t even bother to eat the chocolate parts of the cookie. The kids then took turns on the swing in the backyard. It was a beautiful day to be outside! We had a great day, and I had a fantastic weekend with my northern family.
Oh, I almost forgot to show you photos from the ride up:

The scenery |
My serious driving face (actually, I apparently need stronger sunglasses) |
My Beatles box set came just in time to entertain me on my trip! They sound amazing. And after taking that picture, I noticed that I was approaching Liverpool! Coincidence?
Now I’ve renamed this post because I told you about being in Canada before I wrote about getting there. And the title of the post is also the title of a Paul McCartney song (which is why I spelled it that way)! Obviously, I always have Paul McCartney on the brain. And speaking of brains, mine is completely fried. I’m up way too late once again. Goodnight tonight (another Paul song; see what I did there?!).

thankfully my children can now remain in the witness protection program. we had good times with auntie ump even though you turned your lengthy visit into more of a stop by. thank you for putting shoes on the tiny feet of my little ones. the duck and pie love to wear their new boots.

actually, “this blogger” has been missed and i wish she would post more often so i would have something interesting to read! i get very upset when i check your blog and don’t see any new posts
question: were you driving when you happened to take the picture of the liverpool picture? if you were, you are very talented! (and possibly not a safe driver!)

#1 b-i-l: I really had to search for tiny shoes for those tiny feet! OK, I didn’t search too hard. Thank you, Target. I’m glad the girls like the boots. If the boy needs some boots, let me know. It’s my new specialty!
Second commenter: I was going to delete that first paragraph; the original title was “Missing blogger,” so now it doesn’t really make sense (that’s what happens when you post late at night). Well, it makes sense, but it’s not a very good transition. In any case, since you referenced it, I won’t delete it!
And yes, I was indeed driving while taking that photo. I think that actually proves two things: that I am very talented and that I am an excellent driver! And quite safe, too. No one was harmed while photographing the scenery.

Great pics, Auntie Sara. And I mean all the ones you brought back. I’m sorry I did not get to go with you this time.

Beautiful children, children-in-law and grandchildren – I am a lucky woman!!
Glad you had a good trip, wish I had gone too.
Can’t wait to see all the kiddies, including the “Florida nephew” – hopefully very soon.

I just want to state that The Pie is now in Grade 1 (1st grade) and likes to dress herself.
The kids’ shoes are the best! Duck’s boots get her noticed everywhere. They match her big sister’s boots. In fact, sometimes she brings over one of hers and one of the bigger ones when it’s time to get shoes on.
It’s too bad you missed the genesis of knock-knock jokes. The Pie laughs at the boy’s ridiculous “jokes”. Hers aren’t any better, really. But nothing’s like hearing a 1.5 yr old say, “knock a knock.”
