A while back, I was thinking about people making a living as bloggers. “That would be perfect!” I thought. Except for that whole blogging multiple-times-a-day thing. Clearly, that wouldn’t work out, since I can’t seem to manage blogging multiple times a month. I’ll try to be better. I swear.
Anyway, the month of July has been pretty busy. Did I ever mention my five-day weekend? (And how that should happen every weekend?) It began the day before The Pie’s birthday. On the big day, we had a family party and a lot of fun. It was great to see everyone! The next day, my sister enjoyed a few days away while Mama and I enjoyed a few days with just the kids. We (including Auntie Miriam) went to Hoffman’s (an amusement park) night, took walks a few times (The Pie even walked the whole way from Mama’s to my apartment!), and got haircuts (well, just the big girls, but everyone attended the event; The Duck, a.k.a. Chippy (spell-check prefers “Choppy” or “Chirpy”), was awake while Mowgli slept through it all). I also introduced the kids to a childhood favorite: Follow That Bird. I’m pleased to announce that it was a big hit! (At least I think they loved it; they watched it three times in one week.) Then my five-day weekend ended. Blurg. And the kids (and my sister and brother-in-law, I might add) left on Sunday. Double blurg. The bad news is that I miss them so much. I wish I had all the time (and money!) in the world to spend with my family. But…the good news is that they’ll be back next week when our cousins from Israel visit! Yay!
Other good news: I saw some friends this past weekend; I hadn’t seen them in a long time, so that was fun. The cousins from Israel are coming soon. And I’ll be visiting the southern nephew in a few weeks. But the biggest news? I’m going to see Paul McCartney this weekend! I hadn’t been able to get tickets originally, and it’s a big splurge, but I’m going for it. He’s playing Citi Field, which is the new Mets stadium, and I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.
I had more thoughts I wanted to add to this post, but I don’t remember what they are now. That’s what you get when you start writing one night and then finish your post the next morning. Anyone have any idea what I wanted to say?

Can I come too for the taking in of the NYC sites or is this a cousin first and last date only?
Well, I better not even think about it – there is lots to do before next Wednesday and the company arrives!!
Lil, see you then.

Lil: Well, of course. But doesn’t that deserve a post of its own (which was already forming in my head)? Be prepared to pose in some photos!
Mama: You can come! You could’ve come to see Paul, too, but you never want to join me for concerts.

A Post Of Its Own.. sounds like a great title.
Mama – you are always welcome to come visit me but next time I don’t think we will walk as far at once – remember what happened last time…

Girls: I will come for another visit to the city – concerts are not my thing. Too much noise and way too many people crowded in together. (Let’s not forget mama’s claustrophobia!!)
I have increased my walking distance again – made it to 4 miles yesterday. Hoping to get back to my +5 miles soon!! But, I am much older now and that may take a while.
Thanks for the invitations – love you both.

I am totally jelly about your tickets to see Paul McCartney. Now you HAD BETTER write a post about your NYC trip (within, like, a month of returning), or I will sic the Internet Police on you.

Lil: Even better.
Mama: Good for you! Keep up the walking!
JT: There you are! I’m totally behind on my blog reading, although I was trying to catch up on you and Sadie last week. I’ll definitely write up a post-NYC post. Our tickets to see my Paulie are decent; not great. This is my fifth time seeing him. Did I ever tell you about my eighth row seats? These are nowhere near that. It’s sad. But it’ll still be amazing!
