It turns out I don’t have a bone chip in my ankle. Or it’s not loose, anyway. The doctor called me yesterday (after ignoring my messages on Wednesday and Thursday) to tell me that my MRI showed the defect in my ankle, which is genetic (thanks, Mom!), and that I possibly had an old injury that healed, but currently, no other problem. He said he’ll treat it like he would treat a sprain. So I have to do exercises, and I don’t have to wear the boot, which is great because I think it was causing more problems in my leg (and it was just irritating to wear). It still hurts, and I can’t do any walking or running until I see him in two weeks, but I won’t have to have surgery, so that’s good news.

I can’t seem to shake the sinus problem and the coughing, though, despite the new, heavy-duty medication. I may have to break down and buy Granny’s suggestion of a nose bidet (more commonly called a neti pot). People swear by it, but I have a problem with sticking stuff up my nose, so I’ve been hesitant to try it. But I’m pretty sick of coughing and blowing my nose, so maybe I shouldn’t be so negative about it.

Anyway, I just thought I should post an update. The pity party is not quite over, but it’s not as pitiful as it was. Next up: trying to figure out why the hallway in my apartment building sounds like my old dorm hallway. Sharrup, people. I would go out there to face the problem, but I’m too much of a coward, and I don’t like confrontation. And it would be like admitting that I’m old. I’ll go make dinner instead. Food fixes everything!
