Four years ago, I watched (on tv, of course) a young senator speak at the Democratic Convention. I turned to my sister with tears streaming down my face and said, “This man will be president one day.”
I voted for him this morning.

I didn’t even think Barack Obama would run in 2008; I figured one day would be in 2012 or 2016. And no, I didn’t vote for him the primary, although I’ve said many times that I would support any of the Democratic candidates wholeheartedly (a great group of candidates for sure). But watch the man speak. Listen to what he says. Obama is definitely the change we need.
So this morning, I got up early (I was running, walking, and wheezing my way on the 3.5-mile loop to the polling station by 6:40–fully exercising my right to vote!) and proudly cast my vote for Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States. We’re going to win. Get out and vote today.

Woo! I voted this morning too. Believe me, not just any candidate would prompt me to crane my ass out of bed before 6am. But Obama is worth it.

I hear ya. It takes a LOT to get this fat ass out of bed early. Obama is more than worth it for sure.

Let us remember that voting is a right that should never be taken for granted. There was a time in our country when men decided only white men could vote. Cheers to Obama and everyone else who exhillarated this election season. It has truly been a wild ride and has re-energized people. I cast my vote at 7:15 am today (after waiting in line for 20 minutes). As I went to work I passed several polling places where people were waiting patiently for their turn to cast a vote for CHANGE and HOPE!

It is time for change. It is not just a desire, but a necessity. And cheers to Sara for getting up early this morning to vote. I know how important this day was for you. But I have to say that I have never been so excited to vote.

I wish I would have had thought of taking a pic of my vote, more to scrapbook!
