Well, it seems I haven’t updated my blog in a long time. But, since I’m sitting here at the airport in Florida waiting to go back home, I figured now would be a great time to write something. I started writing something on the plane here, and I actually wrote it. In a notebook. And that was weird. I’d much rather type this up.
Anyway, Miriam and I flew to Florida on Saturday for NN’s bris (which was Sunday). NN was a superstar; he’s been through so much in his short life already and still hardly made a sound when he had his bris. And he barely cried at all afterward. He’s very cute, very sweet, and very small, although he is growing like a weed! He seemed a lot bigger this morning than yesterday even. We had a really nice visit with NN and his family. I wish they didn’t live so far away.
And what else? Well, we were in Toronto over Labor Day weekend to visit The Pie, TCG, and The Duck. They’ll be in town in a few weeks for Rosh Hashanah. And then we’ll all be together again for our brother’s wedding in October. So we have a lot going on around here!
And now they’re announcing a delay for our flight. Blurg. Have I mentioned how much I hate flying? At least I’ve had a vacation from work for the last couple of days. When I go back, there will be a new coworker in our department; possibly two, actually, if the guy’s paperwork came back and he’s ready to start. That’s right, two new people, one female and one male. Hope they’re cool (as cool as fellow proofreaders can be).
So…what have YOU been up to?

I think we all know how cool fellow proofreaders can be. As cool as ME, that’s how.
A vacation! Yippee! Glad to know you’re gallivanting about, having fun with family (and planes).

You may hate flying, but you did fine. And it does stink that NN is so far away. It’s hard to be so spread out.

Just saw photos of the NN’s bris. Lots of people there. He is very cute.
This past weekend I finally saw the Dark Knight – and it was great. I also spent a significant amount of time on Sunday walking – to the Komen Race for the Cure, in the race for the Cure and to the restaurant afterwards (Carmine’s – Broadway between 90th and 91st – I know Sara will want to look it up). I did see Judge Judy – she waved to everyone at the start.
Glad you returned safely from FL.

Flying blows…especially now that you have to pay for everything from checking a bag to a freaking GLASS OF WATER during your flight. It’s worse than taking a bus sometimes.

Yay for Windows updates at work! Yes, it caused my computer to be slow all morning. But look, now I can access my blog here! And yay for my OCD, which causes me to check the blog hourly just to see if maybe it’ll work this time. It did!
Kristin: We proofreaders are the coolest. But I mean that temperature-wise. It’s freezing in here.
Miriam: Thanks for bringing The Girls along on the trip. They helped!
Lil: I also loved The Dark Knight. Did you go to the very early show so you’d still have the whole day ahead of you (and not be scared at night)? Glad you survived the walk. I’m off to look at the menu (of course I’m looking it up; this need has been established).
TH: Glad to see you here! We miss you and UW, too. I mentioned that we should visit you, but Lil said we should limit the spread of germs as much as possible.
JT: I didn’t have to pay for baggage or water. Yay, Southwest!
