It’s been a long week or so. I haven’t updated the blog, and no, #1 brother-in-law, it’s not because you’ve started commenting. So here’s an update of sorts, cheers and jeers style.
Cheers to mothers! I didn’t write a Mother’s Day post, so I’ll take the opportunity to cheer my mom here. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. It’s not completely belated, though; I saw her on Mother’s Day. Although we are finally having our Mother’s Day brunch today, maybe, soon (sort of).
Jeers to cancer. We’ll miss you and we love you lots, Aunt Pearl.
Jeers to cancer. We’re thinking of you, UW.
Cheers to nieces and nephews. I can’t wait for the next one to come…soon(ish)!
Cheers to John Edwards. Not because of whom he endorsed, but because I love hearing him speak. Although it still hurts a little; he should be the Democratic nominee. But it’s great to hear him speak because he gets the important issues out there, including poverty and health care. And he’ll make a great Attorney General, don’t you think?
Jeers to being too old to stay up late and still be completely functional the next day. When exactly did that happen?
Jeers to having started this list in my head the other day and now not remembering what else I wanted to write. But cheers to getting some of it up here! Feel free to add to the list.

She is the very best Granny, for sure. Even if her she has the same disposition as the weather!
Cheers to U.W. getting the best care out there. We wish him the very best.
And I feel so lucky to have been related to Aunt Pearl. She was so very sweet.
Cheers to The Pie and the Crazy Guy. Just because!

Let’s stay positive:
Cheers to Aunt Pearl for keeping up her hair and makeup until the very end. And for making really good chocolate cake.
Cheers to UW for being perhaps the most practical and well-read patient there could ever be.
Cheers to Cray-see Guy for eating a hair-covered lollypop through his haircut.
Cheers to the Pie for keeping 2 people (almost 3) up at one time by having her head on her father and her feet straight across my neck. Oh wait. That’s a jeer.
She knows a lot of songs and information. Cheers to her.

I love your cheers, Cheers to Cheers! Yes, Aunt Pearl did have great hair and makeup and is great because she gave us (the) chocolate cake (recipe). And UW’s good attitude will do him well in his recovery. Cheers that Crazy Guy will now be Cray-see Guy, since he hopefully now can see the world and not just his hair. And the Pie? Cheers to her always.

Hey - thanks for commenting! And on my visit to your site, I now see that you have been doing Cheers & Jeers for, like, ever - and I am sorry if it looks like I just totally ganked that idea from you. JEERS. It was totally unintentional! I promise. My friend structures some of her emails in cheers & jeers format, so I was actually just intending to steal it from HER. CHEERS.

Thanks for stopping by, jive turkey! You can totally steal it, since I stole it from Bill in Portland Maine on Daily Kos (if you go through the archives, you’ll see my original cheers and jeers post about stealing it; I’m too lazy to look now…and I’m supposed to be working!). Perhaps one day I’ll post something else and you’ll comment again.
