We arrived in Toronto yesterday after the usual long ride here. Actually, it wasn’t so bad; we left a little later than we had planned (a little after 8:00 instead of 7:30, even though Miriam was trying to get me out of bed at 6:30), and we got here in about six and a half hours or so. Our niece was happy to see us. Our nephew was happy a bit later.
Today we went to Reptilia, where we enjoyed seeing all the snakes, lizards, frogs, and turtles. We watched a live show to learn about snakes, and our brother-in-law took part: He (and three other men) held a huge python! Yikes. Miriam hasn’t recovered from the experience. She’s the only one who wouldn’t watch while small venomous snakes ate their rat lunch. They also told us that the python behind the glass next to us had eaten a forty-eight-pound goat last week. Delicious!
And that’s all. We’re just hanging out with the adorable kids. Tomorrow will be a quiet morning while everyone is at work, school, or daycare. Then we’ll pick up the niece from school extra early so we can have fun! We’ll probably go shopping. What’s more fun than going to the mall to pick out jewelry at Claire’s? “Nothing, just jewlery’s so great about it,” says the four-year-old.

Yes, they are so much fun, those kids. And I don’t know about you, but I think Claire’s is the best.
