Marie and Frank got married this weekend! Yesterday, in fact. Miriam and I attended their lovely wedding. We had a lot of fun at the reception. We had fantastic tablemates: Marie’s friend Tasha and her boyfriend Matt (big TV fans, so that was fun), my coworker Jean Marie and her friend Dan (very sweet people), and Moira and Bob (Bob works with Frank, and we love Moira and Bob!). A good time was had by all. And here are some photos.

Miriam and I were happy to be there (and so were those people behind us).

I brought home the beautiful centerpiece that Marie worked so hard on. Love the pot! And who wouldn’t love candy favors?

The good times were followed by sad times. On the way home from Schenectady, I noticed the car was making a horrible noise. Miriam said, “Sounds like you have a flat tire.” I was able to make it to Stuyvesant Plaza, which is where we sat for the next hour (until 2 a.m.) waiting for someone to come put on the donut. I said to Miriam, “This is when it would come in handy to know how to change a tire.” My favorite part of this was when the guy who was changing the tire (he was very nice) showed me the piece of metal that caused the flat, said, “Looks like a razor blade,” and then flicked it out of the tire, just narrowly missing my leg. It landed next to my foot, and he said, “Don’t run over it again on your way out.” Thanks. That’s wise, just wise. Anyway, when I had brought my car in for an inspection at the beginning of the week, I was told to get two new tires before the winter; luckily, the punctured tire was one of the ones that needed to be replaced. So I had those replaced today. It’s always good to start AND end the week by spending money on the car, don’t you think?
