So were having a fun day on Saturday. By the early evening, the kids were running around, being introduced from the living room into the dining room, and having a great time. Next thing I hear is the laughter turning to tears. My niece fell down face first and hit her forehead on a door’s hinge. There was some blood. And some more blood. And a bit of an injury that looked to be more than a surface wound (it looked like a hole to me). So we went to the ER. She got three stitches, two lollipops, and one bag of chips. And she was amazing! She didn’t even flinch, she didn’t cry when she got sewn up, and she then turned to me and said, “I’m feeling better.” This morning, she came in my room and told me, “My left eye doesn’t hurt at all.” She’s fantastic.

(This space is reserved for a photo of The Pie’s injury. If I can get that program on this blog working, I’ll post one.)

Today, our cousins came to town, as well as Telene and Weene. All the kids had so much fun playing together. We also went downtown to GE Kids’ Day at the Empire State Plaza. And that was fun: The kids jumped on and slid down a big bouncy-bounce maze and slide; some bead necklaces were created; we saw some reptiles; and there was some dancing and hula-hooping. Then there was more playing at home, dinner together, and some tasty ice cream desserts. Now we’re all tired out.
