I voted before work this morning. I love going to vote. I love turning the levers on the machines and seeing the “x” in the box next to each candidate’s name, then pulling back the curtain and feeling so accomplished. But most of all, I love the feeling that I’m doing something important. And these mid-term elections are really important.
The Democrats have a real chance to win. I think we’ll be taking back the House, and we have a chance to take back the Senate as well. We need to win. We need to bring back the checks and balances and hold this administration responsible for the mess they’ve made of everything.
We need a change. And we should remember that we’re very lucky: We have a choice and we have a voice. Make your choice and use your voice.
Get out there and vote! Go Dems!

Liz’s parents have exercised their franchise! And we expect her to do the same.

Yay for Liz’s parents! I expect Liz to do the same, too. And I’m sure she will. Because otherwise I won’t stop bothering her about it.

Have you been writing the Grassroots script? You just need to finish with something like: “The best way you can help us out is with a suggested contribution of $100. We’ve never put so much into the grassroots effort as we have this year and your support can really help get the candidates the resources they need to win, particularly in tight races in states like Wyoming, Nebraska and Idaho.” (Vote for Pedro! (in Idaho, of course :))).

Really? Maybe I’ve found my calling in life…writing for the Grassroots organization!
